How to add an employee to a team or change an employee's team?

Learn how to effortlessly add employees in a team, as well as how to switch employees between different teams. Two methods are available to achieve this, each outlined below.

 

Note: Here, the terms "employee," "user," and "member" are used interchangeably and carry the same meaning.



Method 1:


Step 1: Navigate to "Users & Designations" within the Settings menu.


Step 2: Locate and select the employee whom you wish to add to a team.


Step 3: Click on the kebab menu icon(⋮) corresponding to the desired employee. This action will open a popup menu, presenting options to “Modify User” to change the user's existing information. Click on “Modify User”


Step 4: It will reveal a sidebar from the left side of the window. Within the drawer, find "Team". It will feature a dropdown menu from which you can select the team you intend to assign the employee to.


Step 5: After selecting the appropriate team, remember to click the "Submit" button within the same drawer to confirm and save the updated team assignment.


Upon successful submission, a confirmation message, "Update successful," will be displayed at the top of the screen. This message serves as verification that the changes have been saved successfully.


Method 2:


Step 1: Access the "Teams" section in the Settings menu.


Step 2: Within this section, you'll find a list of teams on the left and the corresponding team settings on the right.


Step 3: Choose the specific team to which you want to assign the employee.


Step 4: On the right side, under the title of the selected team, locate and click on the "Members" tab.


Step 5: In this tab, you will see two sections: "In this Team" and "Not in this Team". This allows you to differentiate between existing team members and those who have not yet been added.


Step 6: Search for the employee you wish to add to the team. If the searched user is found in section "Not in this Team", click on the plus icon(+) displayed next to their name.


Step 7: If the user is already a member of another team, a pop-up alert labelled "Change Team" will appear. This alert prompts you to switch the selected user from their current team to the one you intend to add them to.


This process ensures that the desired user is seamlessly added to the specified team.

Changing an Employee's Team Using the Current Team Method:

If you wish to modify an employee's team and are aware of their current team, you can follow this alternative approach:


Step 1: Navigate to the "Settings" menu, then click on "Teams."


Step 2: From the list of teams displayed on the left, select the employee's current team.


Step 3: Click the "Members" tab, and either type the employee's name in the search bar or locate them within the "In this Team" section.



Step 4: Next to the desired employee's name, click the kebab icon (⋮). A context menu will appear with two options. Choose "Change team".


Step 5: A popup window will emerge, presenting a dropdown menu. Select the desired team from the list.


Step 6: Confirm the change by clicking the "Change Team" button.


Upon successful submission, you will see a confirmation message, "Update successful," at the top of the screen. This message serves as verification that the changes have been saved successfully.
